FVLC’s 2021 International Women’s Day Forum

On March 7, 2021, the Fraser Valley Labour Council hosted a forum for International Women’s Day to discuss women in politics, women’s safety and the impact of COVID-19 on women.

Featuring Special Guest Speakers: 

Dr. Carin Bondar is a biologist, author and philosopher. Bondar is author of the books Wild Sex and Wild Moms (Pegasus, New York). She is writer and host of the online series based on her books, which have garnered over 120,000,000 views. Bondar’s work appears on National Geographic, TED, Animal Planet, Netflix and The Science Channel. She is an adventurer and explorer, having discovered 11 new species of beetles and snails in the remote jungles of Borneo. Bondar is an Adjunct Professor of Biology at the University of the Fraser Valley, where her work focuses on increasing science literacy in the general public. Bondar lives in Chilliwack, British Columbia with her four children, two dogs and one cat.

Kathleen Mosa is the Executive Director at Wilma’s. She has been with the society for 12 years starting as a volunteer to later be hired on as a relief/support worker and in 2013 became the Executive Director. She grew up in the Vancouver area, landing in Chilliwack about 20 years ago. She decided to continue her education once starting at the society going on to receive her degree in Sociology and then continued where she now holds her Masters in clinical Psychology.
