Period Promise – United Way
June 13, 2023 at 11:59 PM
The 2023 United Way Period Promise Campaign, presented by Pacific Blue Cross in partnership with CUPE 1816 is launching today and goes until June 13th – and regardless of where you are in British Columbia you can join in!
Donate today or set up a team fundraising page and ask your colleagues, family, friends, or neighbours to help out as well!
Donations of tampons, pads, and other products are also vital to the campaign. Agencies are asking for more tampons and reusable menstrual products such as pads, discs and underwear. If you run a collection campaign we have a toolkit to help out – let us know where you are and we’ll connect you to your local United Way. Or check out this list of drop-off locations and events many of our partners are hosting! We’re here to help you get the product into the hands of people who need it.
Last year, we set a new record and got more than 700,000 menstrual products into the community – and we’re aiming to do the same again this year. But we need your help!
Get your collection efforts started today! And let us know if there is anything that we can do to help out.
“The cost of living has always been a concern, especially amongst vulnerable populations such as newcomers, immigrants, refugees. In the last year or so, inflation has shot up and continues to make essential items for individuals and families very challenging to afford. This includes menstrual products, like tampons, pads or cups.
Without these products being readily available in our community, many of us can’t leave our homes to go to work, school, community events, or community organizations that we rely on. Donate today to help out.”
