National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration

June 21, 2023 at
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Sqwa First Nation 615 Lower Landing Road Chilliwack, BC

The Sqwa First Nation will be hosting an event to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day. Vendors, Food and an ironman Competition will be just a few of the events taking place.

Celebrated in Canada every 21 June, National Indigenous Peoples Day is an official day of celebration to recognize and honour the heritage, cultures and valuable contributions to society by First NationsInuit and Métis peoples. National Indigenous Peoples Day is the same day as the summer solstice (the longest day of the year) and was chosen for its important symbolism to many Indigenous peoples (see Religion and Spirituality of Indigenous Peoples in Canada.)

Archway Community Services posted an article with other events taking place in the Fraser Valley this month, we encourage everyone to get involved with one of these events.
