Webinar – Rise up for Gender Justice
The CLC will also be hosting a live webinar connected to this campaign on March 18 at 9:30 a.m. PT: Union Women Rise Up for Gender Justice!
We are excited to share that this webinar will be simultaneously live casted as part of the NGO CSW Forum, within the context of the 69th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. This is a unique opportunity for our activists to tune in and learn more about how Canadian trade union women are bringing stories about women’s rights and gender justice from our labour movement to the world stage. This will include highlighting our work towards advancements on women’s leadership, winning better wages, securing decent working conditions, and mobilizing towards a fairer, more just, and equitable society.

VDLC Women’s Day Dinner
The dinner takes place on Saturday March 8th.
We have one important reminder for everyone! This year’s event takes place at the South Hall Event Centre, 8273 Ross St. in Vancouver. The hall is located just off of Marine Drive in South Vancouver.
Parking may be limited so we suggest that you carpool, take transit (there is a stop at the southeast corner of Marine Drive and Ross St.) a Taxi, or Rideshare. Street parking is available on Ross St., East Kent Ave. South and on Marine Drive after 6:00pm.
We have a fantastic panel lined up for our theme this year: Voices of Power: Women Taking Political Action. Our panel includes:
- Jenny Kwan, MP for Vancouver East
- Niki Sharma, Deputy Premier of BC
- Christine Boyle, Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation
- Jennifer Reddy, Vancouver School Board Trustee
- MC – Karen Ranalletta, President of CUPE BC and Yukon Division
Doors open at 4.30pm. Appetizers at 5.00pm. Our West Meets East dinner buffet starts at 6.00pm. Our Welcome and panel discussion starts at 7.00pm.
Tickets can be purchased through the VDLC website. Tables are 10 people per table and can also be purchased through our website. If you wish to purchase a table and be invoiced, please contact the VDLC office at 604-254-0703 or email office@vdlc.ca.
Our event is open to all. The hall is wheelchair accessible and there will be ASL Interpretation provided.
All tickets must be purchased in advance of March 3, 2025. There will be no ticket sales the day of the event.
